Spike Novak was a Research Intern at the Institute of Chinese Studies from July 2013 to September 2013. He worked on a thesis on comparing municipal finance and poverty alleviation in Shanghai and Mumbai. His areas of interest are economic development, India-China relations, Chinese and Indian political economy, municipal finance, and poverty alleviation.
