Diki Sherpa was a research assistant at the Institute of Chinese (ICS) Delhi. She completed her M.Phil from the Department of history, University of Delhi. She worked on ‘The Indo-Tibetan Trade through the Eastern Himalayas in the First Half of the Twentieth Century’ She completed her B.A and M.A from the department of history, Jadavpur University, Kolkata.
This paper assesses the competitive geopolitical interests that have thus converged and been advanced by infrastructure building in the Nepalese Himalayan borderland.
The paper looks at the present Sino-Indian border trade through Sikkim. It suggests opening of additional trade route to enhnace economic engagements and mutual cooperation and to foster the healthy interdependence between the two neighboring countries.
यह पेपर सिक्किम के माध्यम से वर्तमान में चीन-भारतीय सीमा पर व्यापार को देखता है। यह आर्थिक व्यापार को बढ़ाने और पारस्परिक सहयोग बढ़ाने और दो पड़ोसी देशों के बीच स्वस्थ अंतर-निर्भरता को बढ़ावा देने के लिए अतिरिक्त व्यापार मार्ग खोलने का सुझाव देता है।
