DEVA PANDEY

Deva Pandey is a Research Intern at the Institute of Chinese Studies and is currently pursuing a certificate course in the Mandarin language at the Centre for the Study of Foreign Languages, University of Hyderabad. He is completing his MA in Political Science at the University of Hyderabad and holds an Undergraduate degree in Political Science from Banaras Hindu University. His current research focuses on how China’s statecraft, through initiatives like the Global Civilization Initiatives (GCI), attempts to build discourse on legitimacy in the region. Previously, he worked on Taiwan’s narrative framing through a digital museum space framework. Earlier, he presented a quarterly analysis on Inter-Korean strategic provocations and regional alliances through a collaborative NIAS Bengaluru initiative. His research interests lie at the intersection of state-building projects, strategic narratives and identity politics in East Asia.
