Abstract
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chinese President Xi Jinping met for a two day ’informal meeting’ (fei zhengshi hui tan) from 27-28 April at Wuhan, the capital of Hubei province in central China. Lauded as a ‘game changer’, the summit received extensive attention from global media with scholars and experts weighing in. However, the meeting did not result in a joint statement or any other concrete outcome. The ICS is hosting a roundtable discussion of leading Sinologists in India to examine “What really transpired between the two leaders who met 6 times in 24 hours?” and more.
