The 19th Russia India China Trilateral Academic Conference took place in Moscow from 7-9 October 2024. These academic exchanges commenced in Moscow in September 2001 involving scholars from the Institute of Far Eastern Studies (IFES), now the Institute of China and Contemporary Asia (ICCA) Russian Academy of Sciences, China Institute of International Studies (CIIS) Beijing and Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS) Delhi. Supported by the three governments, these conferences have taken place annually in each of the three capitals by rotation. The 19th Conference maintained the format of scholarly discussions covering the global, regional and bilateral dynamics and comprised four sessions on the global cooperation agenda in the RIC; regional trilateral interaction; and the potential for cooperation between the RIC countries in practical areas, particularly in the field of energy and hydrocarbons, IT technologies. This seminar aims to bring out the assessments and perspectives of the five participants who represented the ICS, with regard to the opportunities and challenges for the RIC mechanism amidst highly volatile and turbulent circumstances.

About the Panellists

Anuradha Chenoy is Adjunct Professor, Jindal Global University and former Professor and Dean, School of International Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University.

Jabin T. Jacob is Associate Professor, Department of International Relations and Governance Studies, and Director, Centre for Himalayan Studies, Shiv Nadar University, Delhi National Capital Region.

Lt Gen S L Narasimhan, PVSM, AVSM*,VSM, PhD (Retd), is presently an Adjunct Distinguished Fellow with Gateway House, Mumbai, Non Resident Senior Associate with CSIS, Washington DC, Adjunct Professor with National Institute of Advanced Studies, Bengaluru and Emeritus Resource Faculty with Rashtriya Raksha University, India.

Aravind Yelery is an Associate Professor at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi and an Honorary Fellow of the ICS.
