The Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS), New Delhi, hosted Dr Arunabh Ghosh, Associate Professor, Department of History, Harvard University, on 10 January 2025, for an interaction with senior Fellows and young researchers. The discussion covered various themes, including contemporary issues in China, and Dr Ghosh provided valuable insights into different methods of data collection. He also offered useful suggestions regarding archival research, especially in various cities in different provinces in China. Senior Fellows of the ICS engaged with Dr. Ghosh on a number of themes, including trends in research on China. The young scholars were able to discuss, in brief, their research interests and received constructive ideas on how to approach their research themes more comprehensively. Dr Ghosh also presented his publication, Making it Count: Statistics and Statecraft in the Early People’s Republic of China (2020) to the ICS Library.
