Titled ‘Exploring the Potential of China Studies in India’, the Institute of Chinese Studies and Harvard-Yenching Institute in collaboration with the Department of Chinese Studies, Doon University organized the first ICS-HYI colloquium on 24th August, 2018 in Doon University. The aim of this colloquium was to bring together ICS-HYI fellows from different disciplines to promote multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary approach to studying China. 

Doon University, as the first venue of this colloquium saw the participation of seventy students and faculty from varied disciplines, e.g, Chinese Studies, Japanese Studies, French Studies, German Studies, Economics, Mass Communication.
