Seemi Zafar was a Research Assistant at the Institute of Chinese Studies, Delhi. February 2013 to March 2013. She worked on study of the role of diaspora, and influence of multilateral and bilateral organizations in the marketed expansion of healthcare in India and China through a comparative lens. Her areas of interest include commercialization of healthcare and studies in comparative health.
The imposition of new economic reforms were based on the dominant argument of inefficiency of public health systems, which was imagined to be alleviated through a decisive role of the market – to enhance both equity and efficiency.
