Naina Singh was a Research Assitant at the Institute of Chinese Studies, Delhi. She is pursuing MPhil in international Organizations from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has completed her Masters from South Asian University, New Delhi in International Relations with special focus on the South Asian region. Her research interests include primarily cultural and international relations, regional and sub-regional arrangements (Asia) and multilateral diplomacy.
This case study of Kailash Sacred Landscape Conservation and Development Initiative attempts to understand the role of participant states; China, India and Nepal in relation to local and global non-state actors around a natural and culturally constructed landscape.
This paper attempts to highlight informal multilateralism as a complementary and well-thought out Chinese policy in the region to draw states into its political and economic plans.
