Md. Shariful Islam was a Research Intern at Institute of Chinese Studies from June 2013 to August 2013. His areas of interest are critical security studies, human security, critical approaches to International Relations theory, South Asian politics, foreign policy analysis (with particular focus on Bangladesh, US, China, India), regionalism/cooperation through institutions, qualitative research methods, conflict transformation and peace building.
