MANJU RANI HARA

Manju Rani Hara currently works as an Assistant Professor in Centre for Chinese and South & East Asian Studies, School of Language, Literature and Culture Studies, Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. She has recently submitted her Ph. D. titled “Literary Activism in China in the 1980s and 1990s: A Case Study of Wang Anyi and Wang Shuo” and her research interests are Modern and Contemporary Chinese Literature, Chinese Society & Culture, Gender relations etc.

The paper looks at some of the representative works of Wang Shuo to see how his works contributed to the contemporary Chinese fiction by mirroring the issues of a newly emerged ‘class’.
