Chinese Statecraft in a Changing World: Demystifying Enduring Traditions and Dynamic Constraints offers a rich historical perspective on the enduring factors and temporary transitions that have shaped contemporary China's foreign policy and national objectives, as well as their implications for the new geopolitics of our age. The book focuses on examining the 'why' beyond the 'what,' enabling new questions to be asked about 'how' to deal with China. More specifically, it discusses what can be done to make China a more constructive and accountable participant in the emergence of a prosperous, shared world. The discussion will explore the questions highlighted above.
