The Institute of Chinese Studies (ICS), New Delhi and the Department of Political Science, University of Hyderabad, in cooperation with the Institution of Eminence Directorate, University of Hyderabad and in partnership with the Council for Social Development, Hyderabad and the Centre of Excellence for Himalayan Studies, Shiv Nadar University, Delhi-NCR organised the 16th All India Conference of China Studies (AICCS). The conference was held at the University of Hyderabad from 16–18 November 2023. The Special Theme this year was Social Dynamics and Political Responses in China.
The AICCS is the flagship conference of the Institute of Chinese Studies, and aims to generate interest, strengthen research and showcase advancements made in China Studies in India. As a pan-Indian outreach initiative, the previous editions of the AICCS have been held in Delhi (2006 and 2009), Jadavpur University (2010), Central University of Hyderabad (2011), Visva-Bharati University (2012 and 2021), IIM-Kozhikode (2013), Banaras Hindu University (2014), Sikkim University (2015), University of Mumbai (2016), Goa University (2017), CHRIST University (2018), O.P. Jindal Global University (2019), China Studies Centre, IIT Madras (2021), and IIT Guwahati (2022).
Spread over three days, the conference featured scholars from over 25 institutions of India and abroad, and showcased a survey of recent scholarship on various facets of China over 15 sessions.

The Mira Sinha Bhattacharjee Award, instituted by the ICS for the best paper presented by a young scholar under 40, was awarded to Ekta Singh, Assistant Professor of Public Policy & Governance at Dr. B. R. Ambedkar University, Delhi. She received this honor for her paper titled "Grid Management and the Chinese Surveillance," presented at the 16th All India Conference of China Studies.

Researchers interested in attending the conference need to register. The standard registration fee for participants is 1500 INR but for Master’s and ongoing doctoral scholars, it will be 600 INR.
